AWAKENING 20/20 VISION

Happy New Year! May your resolution be to make space to experience intuitive revelations, deepen your spiritual reverence and awaken a special kind of 20/20 vision- the kind that will ignite a revolution of your conscience and consciousness. As we enter a new chapter, we generally consider our place and purpose in the world, we project our idea of what we desire to be, do and have in the future. In order to do this effectively however, we must consider what needs tweaking and refining in our attitude towards life, our challenges, the planet, other people and even ourselves. The truth is that we cannot create lasting change if we do not come to know more about the composition of our own being and the contents of our own heart. But how much time do we spend to this end? We spend more time scrolling on social media than we do soul searching and self observing. We all want self empowerment but are we willing to give up on our suffering? We often start things off positive, inspired and driven in the new year from the conscious part of our being which is like the tip of the iceberg, yet as we progress, we come face to face with the hidden part of our being- the shadows lurking in the unconscious that are the cause of great resistance and recycled experiences. In order to make out an end to this self sabotage, break habits and decondition ourselves, we have to be willing to confront the contents of our resistance. We need to focus developing a sincere sense of self awareness. We have to become aware of both the part of us that wants positive change, and the part that clings to the status quo. This is the spiritual battle within. This is the silent warfare of the soul that calls for us to move from victim to hero at a personal and collective level. We are all called to slay our personal inner dragon and redeem our power, but many give up before they have even started. Whether we realise it or not, we are all in the vortex of great change, a revolution of human consciousness is quietly taking place in the hearts and minds of all beings and it is unfolding differently for each of us. This resistance is universal. As more people begin to courageously own who they are, there is equal rise in resistance to those deemed ‘different’ in their thinking and being. Racism, sexism and other hate crimes towards animals and Mother Nature are on the rise globally as people project their unconscious anger in ways never seen before. Dragons are rearing their ugly head from deep in the dungeon of our collective disconnect. Although we judge such behaviours as part of the ‘problem’, this too is in fact part of the path of transformation and awakening heart consciousness. Janes Baldwin put it so well when he said “I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hate so stubbornly is because they sense once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.” The first step towards awakening is becoming aware of our own buried pain. As we dig deeper into our being, we come to realise how much collective hurt has distorted our heart, mind and spirit. There is inner work to do, but this kind of work requires sleeping beauty to wake up out of the collective trance and awaken to higher and finer realities. Instead of living in a virtual reality, we need to consider that our being can trip the program and tune into higher realities. Like the man poking his head out of the firmament, we too must seek higher knowledge that awakens our heart to mystical truths. When we disrupt the routine and go against our mechanical nature, we begin to witness how automated our being is. When we choose to unplug and sit down quietly or go out into nature, the receiver capacity of our head, heart and gut brain has a chance to open to a finer awareness, a greater presence. People call this greater presence God, the Divine, the Holy, but you don’t need to worry about defining the undefinable. By tuning into this mystery, we can come to practice more deeply accepting our humanness for a second or two. For a moment or two, we can soften and remember who we really are and feel tremendous compassion for all of existence, including ourselves. We need to create space for the sacred. We need to create space for soul. Once we have space, we can travel deep into the woods of our conscience and begin to tend to the attitude of our heart. It is here that transformation happens. It is here in the secret chamber of your inner most soul that you will confront these dragons and dissolve them with ineffable fire of loving awareness and forgiveness. Forgiveness is the gatekeeper of personal power. Forgiveness is the way we transform our dragons into doves. To forgive is not a righteous act of discerning good, bad, right or wrong. It is an act of humility that comes from a deep understanding and acceptance of nature. It is an act of deeply connecting and empathising with the collective inherent struggle and suffering of every living being, creature and even blade of grass. This year why not decide to give yourself the gift of space, presence, acceptance and offer forgiveness, so that you too may experience what it is like to be accepted and forgiven in your wholeness in return. You can start small, sitting quietly, evoking a state of gentleness and practice repeating the word “forgiven” like a mantra or prayer when difficult feelings or memories arise, tension, a rush of anxiety, or when you witness yourself or other being like a puppets dancing on the string of our conditioning. For a moment or two we can emerge into a softer mystical presence that permits us to let go... This kind of awakening is the opening of the spiritual lens of the heart. It is my mission to continue to guide others to awaken within them a spiritual kind of 20/20 vision. It is my hope that Grace awakens a vision that is broad, deep and compassionate in your heart. May we begin to see and sense ourselves–every part of ourselves, even the wounded and darkest parts—as part of the greater Holy whole. I wish you divine self love!
